The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, while the suspect was arrested without incident, police said. Officers also said they recovered a weapon at the scene. However, as the investigation continues, police said they believe this was an accidental shooting with no further threat to the public. "We repeatedly hear of people being killed from the reckless handling of firearms," Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. "Thankfully, that was not the situation today."
