SUMTER COUNTY, AL — A Mississippi man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Alabama Highway 17 in Sumter County. Click here to subscribe to our free Tuscaloosa Daily newsletter and breaking news alerts The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the wreck occurred at approximately 7:07 a.m. and identified the victim as Cortez Steen, 26, of Grenada, Mississippi. ALEA said the 1999 Freightliner tractor-trailer Steen was driving overturned. Steen, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
