Summary The Economic Development Reform Coalition of Southern California is hiring part-time signature gatherers who will be part of a field team for our South Bay campaign. We are seeking motivated applicants who will be working in Redondo Beach and other South Bay cities gathering signatures door-to-door and in public places to put a legal cannabis dispensary ordinance on the ballot of select cities for the voters to approve. Signature gatherers will report to the campaign manager to talk about daily/weekly goals, must be able to receive constructive feedback, have excellent relationship building skills, be able to walk/stand for long periods of time, and have reliable transportation to accommodate driving to Redondo Beach and other surrounding cities. Gas reimbursement for travel during shifts will be provided and bonus incentives for hitting daily goals. *This is not a pay per signature job* Responsibilities ● Approach and engage with registered voters in public spaces ● Educate voters on the petition you are circulating ● Collect signatures in order to qualify the issue for the ballot ● Walk and stand for long periods of time in public areas ● Walk door-to-door in surrounding neighborhoods ● Ensure accurate collection and entry of voters’ information on the petition ● Communicate effectively to receive feedback and adapt accordingly ● Travel to different high foot-traffic sites and neighborhoods ● Hit goals for voter contact and other program elements ● Be available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed Qualifications ● Strong interpersonal communication skills ● Have access to a smartphone ● Enthusiastic, positive attitude ● Ability to communicate effectively in order to meet goals ● Comfortable speaking in public, walking and standing for long periods of time ● Ability to be flexible in a nimble environment ● Must be able to work independently and as part of a team ● Willingness to travel, work evenings and weekends ● Adaptable to changing needs and program priorities ● Have a CA driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (preferred but not required) ● Experience in public speaking or customer service is a plus ● Previous campaign or signature gathering experience is a plus COVID-19 Precautions ● Must wear a mask at all times ● Social distancing guidelines in place ● Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place How to Apply Send resume or email detailing experience/interest by replying to this posting with the subject line “Signature Gatherer.” Positions will be open until filled.
