The Park Danforth has an open position on our Maintenance Team due to a long-term employee's retirement. While these will be hard shoes to fill, we are excited about bringing on a new team member! We are looking for an experienced candidate that understands the importance of reliability and brings excellent attention to detail in their work. This candidate will be able to work well independently and will be required to work in a safe and professional manner at all times. Although there will be ample opportunity to cross reference with other members of the team, there is a lot of autonomy associated with this role. Work orders are assigned through a job ticketing system and the person in this role will be able to choose how to prioritize and structure most work days. Daily responsibilities** - Assisting the department with the general building and property maintenance - Completion of generated work orders - Some custodial responsibilities - Overnight snow plowing (as needed) Requirements** - Ability to work independently - Reliability - The desire to work with seniors - Building maintenance experience or related field (2 years) - Plowing experience (a plus!) - Valid Maine Driver's License with a clean driving record - Ability to read and write legibly in English Physical Requirements** - Standing/Walking – 100% - Sitting – as needed - Lifting – 5% @ 75 to possibly 100 lbs maximum (w/ assistance) - Bending/Stooping –30% - Pushing/Pulling – 80% - Carrying – 5% @ 75 to possibly 100 lbs maximum (w/ assistance) This is a benefits eligible, 40 hour per week position. The ideal schedule for our new Maintenance Assistant would be 12pm-8pm, but we are willing to be very flexible with those hours for the right candidate. This position would also be responsible for overnight slow plowing on campus as the weather dictates. *Why Join Us?
