Description
Small Environmental Non-Profit has an immediate opening for a Field Technician. Looking for a capable &
hard-working person to assist with invasive plant removal including cutting, carrying, and spraying.
Capable of carrying a 55-pound backpack. Must be willing to work with Roundup – aka Glyphosate
JOB DUTIES include (but not limited to)
Apply herbicide to control invasive plants.
Plant and care for native plants. Care includes watering, weeding, pruning, staking and
basin building.
Propagate plants by division, seed, and cuttings (stakes).
Monitor occurrence of invasive plants in LRPC field sites.
Maintain trail surfaces throughout field sites.
Maintain fencing
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS include (but not limited to)
Punctual, reliable & ready to work
Learn and take direction
Work independently
Strong verbal & written schools
Computer & software savvy, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Google Maps, Google Earth, GIS
Self-motivated – energetic – team player
Comfortable working with public
Rudimentary knowledge of native plants is a plus
QAC holder also a plus

Valid drivers license a must
Must have reliable transportation
Able to lift 60 pounds, repeated bending, stooping, walking on uneven sloped ground
Working primarily outdoors must wear PPE (Lakeside is one of the hottest areas of San Diego County)
