SHOP TECHNICIAN
SHOP TECHNICIAN DESCRIPTION:
*Assist engineers and other technicians
*Prepare samples (e.g. sectioning, machining, cleaning, macro and micro-etching, mounting and polishing)
*Maintain and repair equipment
*Interpret and utilize standard specifications
*Organize raw data
*Perform destructive and non-destructive testing
*Build specimen-testing apparatus
*Follow safety rules and precautions
*Photograph samples
*Calibration of test equipment; See that laboratory equipment is properly calibrated (with records), maintained, and ready for use.
*Perform routine tests
*Clean laboratory and glassware
*Oversee laboratory orderliness and cleanliness
*Run errands
General cleaning of the building and keeping it maintained and in good condition
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
