J. H. Walker Trucking is looking for an Experienced Diesel Mechanic/Trailer Tech to keep up our level of commitment to safety and our customers. The candidate selected for this role will perform preventative maintenance and truck repair according to industry standards. We have all types of box trucks, straight trucks, flatbeds and tractors. In this position you are trusted to work independently, be a great communicator to management and possess the know how to get the job done. We expect bright people, willing to roll up their sleeves, take on new assignments and juggle many things at once. Job Requirements: Must have Own Basic Tools 1-2 yrs diesel mechanic experience Valid DL or CDL Multitask and prioritize effectively Work independently and multi-task Positive attitude, Safety conscious, good instincts, and self-motivation Job Description: Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, jacks and hoists Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment Raise trucks, trailers and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices Inspect, repair, and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery such as pumps and compressors All other duties assigned by Maintenance Manager Job Benefits: Hours Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM with 1 hour lunch break Hourly Pay Direct Deposit Medical Insurance Paid Vacation Profit Sharing 401K Life Insurance Short Term Disability Interested apply at: Questions call Mandy at 281-661-3958 or Greg at 713-688-8400 ext 125
