I was displaced by the sale of the Amherst Motel. The corporate owner made contracts with each existing tenant to pay their way at local hostelries while helping them to find housing. One day I returned from the store and the hostelry would not allow me back in my room. All my belongings were still in there. The social worker from Highland Valley Senior Services advised me to check into a motel at my expense. Before this, twice, my application came up at Amherst Housing Authority. Both times they declined to let me have a unit. Several other organizations that provide subsidized housing have denied me a hearing. I am elderly and disabled. If you have the knowledge to help me find access to the appropriate housing I would appreciate your help.
