We are a small team of 4 in search of a handyman who is looking for freedom with a flexible work schedule and a willingness to get the job done when called upon. Please DO NOT respond to this listing if: - You do not live in Chicago near Bucktown, Wicker Park (60622, 60647, 60642, 60618, 60614) - You do not have reliable transportation - You do not have all necessary tools for basic repairs - You are not seeking long-term employment WHO WE ARE: We are a successful family owned company that manages our own apartments only in Bucktown and Wicker Park. We currently own and operate around 160 units. We are looking for someone to join our small group as a Handyman / Maintenance Coordinator. SKILLS REQUIRED: (The ideal candidate should have overall knowledge of all of the trades, but not every trade is mandatory) -- Painting and patching of drywall and plaster, including mudding and taping. -- Electrical: change switches, outlets, light fixtures, ceiling fans, circuit breakers, etc. -- Appliances: fix or at least understand problems to refer to the appliance company -- Plumbing: change or repair faucets & cartridges, sweat copper, find leaks, clear clogged drains, fix tile problems, etc. -- HVAC: diagnose problems, clean or change flame sensor, igniters, pressure sensor, filters. -- Windows: replace broken windows, panes, screens, etc. -- Carpentry: frame a wall, fix a door, install trim, adjust or change a handle or lock, hang blinds, fixing closets -- Tiling: ability to tile bathrooms or kitchens -- Lawn Care & Snow Removal, keeping grounds clean of trash and weeds. -- Meet vendors at the properties when necessary -- Perform apartment turnovers for future move-ins (changes bulbs, clean if necessary, check plumbing, etc). -- Cleaning of apartments when necessary, post construction, or for turnover -- Perform scheduled maintenance when necessary, like changing filters -- Periodically inspect all units, buildings and common areas, performing repairs as needed. -- Reports all lease violations, incidents, etc. WORKING CONDITIONS: (Details to accomplish the jobs) - Must have a reliable car or truck. - Must be able to use email & text messages & the web. - Must live in Chicago and ideally near the Bucktown area - Must work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions - Must be dependable and prompt and be able to communicate well. - Our buildings are located in these zip codes (60622, 60642, 60647, 60618, 60614) - You need to be able to speak English * (No se requiere inglés fluido, pero se necesitan habilidades básicas para hablar inglés) WHAT WE OFFER: A good salary based on experience and skills.
