Job Purpose: Diver License is a PLUS Duties: * Gathers roofing materials by calculating material requirements; loading, unloading, and securing delivery trucks; operating lifting equipment. * Prepares roofs by removing damaged materials; correcting structural, insulation, and waterproofing deficiencies; protecting openings. * Installs roofs by installing and preparing roof decking; pouring, applying, and laying insulation and waterproofing materials; identifying starting point for shingles, sheets, and materials; placing materials in sequence; attaching fastening devices; completing roof penetrations; installing flashings; locating drains. * Completes roof tests and inspections by conducting drainage and waterproofing tests; coordinating and cooperating with building inspectors; repair deficiencies. * Maintains equipment and tools by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. * Maintains safe and legal work project by following safety procedures, hazardous material restrictions, and building codes; using personal protective equipment and clothing; following proper procedures for using kettles and tankers and ladders. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
