Companion Dog needed

I'm in search of a dog that needs a great home with a very loving woman. I lost my husband almost a month ago to a heart attack, I have a huge void in my life and need a dog that will cuddle, snuggle, go for walks to the park, and protect me,and my home when I'm away. I need to fill the hole in my heart left behind by my husband's passing. The only breed I can't have is a pit. Homeowners policy will not cover. (which is completely ridiculous) if anyone knows of a dog that needs a new home please let me know. Rescued dogs are always the most loyal, faithful, and grateful. Thank you in advance. I've tried shelters but they are completely unreasonable with what they charge to "adopt " a dog. I would love to give a dog a forever home. On rainy days he/she could sit on the couch and watch a movie. My schedule for my job is flexible, and I can actually work from home during the adjustment period. So please if anyone knows of a good dog who needs a loving home, please think of me.
