‘Āina Ho‘okupu O Kilauea is proud to administer the Kilauea Community Agricultural Center (KCAC) - an innovative project focused on increasing and supporting the sustainability of small farming on Kauai. KCAC is in the early expansion phase and growing quickly, with 75 acres and complete facilities in process to support farmers markets, retail, and other local food options. This expansion and growth of programs requires a Landscape Artist whose role is a full-scope landscaping design, development and regular maintenance position for the 75-acre Kilauea Community Agricultural Center. This position will work closely with the CEO to develop a comprehensive vision for landscaping for the plot to include fostering native plants, productive trees and complementary foliage for the farm and customer-facing areas and considering existing plantings. The implementation shall be mapped out into a timeframe and corresponding budget. The existing farm landscaping will need regular ongoing maintenance such as tree trimming, mowing, weedeating, tending, watering, and other related tasks. This is both a design/development and hands-on execution role – successful candidates will have landscaping and lawn maintenance experience and be ready to maintain the land in a high-quality, well-cared-for and presentable state. Supervises: None Status: Hourly, up to full-time Hours: TBD Location: Kilauea Community Agricultural Center Reports to: CEO Duties and Responsibilities Landscaping, tree and lawn maintenance for the Kilauea Community Agricultural Center Landscape design, planning, development, and implementation Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Requirements Experience in hands-on landscaping and lawn maintenance Demonstrated capability with a range of landscaping tools and techniques Landscape design experience preferred Project planning experience (developing budgets, timelines, work plans, etc.) Computer skills (Microsoft Suite, Google tools, landscaping or design programs) Salary Commensurate with experience and qualifications Please find more information of this job posting and to apply here:
