September 16, 2021: EGUSD Paraeducator Recruitment Event The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) has an immediate need to fill approximately 100 positions and is now recruiting for Special Education Paraeducators . If you want to make a difference in the lives of children, a special education paraeducator position may be right for you. Paraeducators are critical to our ability to educate our students with disability. They work alongside the classroom teacher during the school day to providing instruction and support to our students with disabilities. We have opportunities to work with students between the ages of 3 and 22 with a wide range of abilities. On the job training is provided as well as opportunities for professional development outside of the work day. Being a paraeducator also means assisting students with building self-esteem by providing proper examples, emotional support, a friendly attitude and general guidance. On Thursday, September 16, 2021, EGUSD will host in-person interviews. Follow the instructions below to receive an exclusive invitation to interview! INSTRUCTIONS All requirements must be met in order for EGUSD to confirm your interview. 1. Register on Eventbrite. Click "Register" to let EGUSD know you are interested in becoming a paraeducator. 2. Check your Email. Once registered, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided. It will contain a special link to follow and instructions on next steps to secure an interview. INFORMATION Candidates who complete the Eventbrite registration, Edjoin application, and satisfy one of the NCLB Paraeducator requirements will qualify for an interview. The District will contact qualified candidates with their interview time. All in-person interviews will be conducted at the district office on Thursday, September 16th between 3:30-5:30. NCLB Paraeducator requirements can be met by completion of ONE of the following: EGUSD No Child Left Behind CertificateCalifornia Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)College Transcripts (48 semester units) or AA Degree (or higher) The Elk Grove Unified School District is the fifth-largest school district in California located in southern Sacramento County and is known as one of the most diverse areas of California.
