Thanks for understanding! ----- FB | INST | BNDCMP | SPTFY The Asteroid No.4 usher in the tender sway of shoegaze shows of yesteryear with their new release “Northern Songs.” Founders and childhood friends Scott Vittorelli and Eric Harms are surrounded by a family of friends in Matthew Rhodes and new additions Camilla Saufley (Golden Void) and Mark Tarlton (Echodrone). There’s a fresh energy to “Northern Songs” as they’ve returned to their danceable, yet somewhat darker roots. Their signature blend is a fuzzed-out mass with spectral vocals and winding guitar beside iconic lyrics. Earworms on ”Northern Songs” include “All Mixed Up,” “Northern Song” and “Swiss Mountain Myth” which is about their last European stint living in mortal fear of their machete-wielding tour driver. They’ve packed rooms in Europe before, but none as sweet at the ones connecting with people again post-pandemic.
