Description

A 4-part workshop in practicing Kintsugi, a Japanese art style with therapeutic benefits, facilitated by Erin Gibbons, ATR-BC, LCAT. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the cracks, breaks, and seams, highlighting the imperfections and creating new beauty and uniqueness in the piece of art. When we go through this process, it reminds us of how people themselves can be broken and repaired in a similar way--how emphasizing, reflecting on, and loving our scars and imperfections can be helpful for our mental health, healing, and recovery. This workshop, facilitated by art therapist Erin Gibbons, ATR-BC, LCAT, will strive to stimulate this healing process through reflection, processing, deconstruction, and reparation. For more information about this 4-part workshop, please call us at (732) 852-7373 or email us at [email protected].
