You are volunteering to serve as a Vendor in either the AM, PM or both AM & PM sessions of the upcoming Poverty Simulation on October 8th.
ACH Child and Family Services will provide 2 Community Action Poverty Simulations (CAPS) on Friday, October 8th, 2021 at the Arlington Public Library - George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. We are partnering with the DFW Literacy Symposium to bring this training to their attendees. The training is a very powerful training however it takes lots of support! We would like to extend an invitation to you to be a volunteer Vendor at this event, serving in the AM session, PM session, or during BOTH sessions. 3 hours of CEU credit in Cultural Humility will be provided for each session. Box lunches will be available for Vendors at both sessions.
The Community-Based Child Welfare National Symposium began as a conversation between Embrace Families (Florida) and ACH Child and Family Services (Texas) but has quickly added additional organizations nation-wide in the conversation for this symposium. At last year's event, we had individuals from 15 states partaking in rich and meaningful conversations. We are focusing the conversation this year to include lessons learned on how Community-Based Care proved to be successful during a national pandemic.
Community-Based Care models have shown to be better at addressing the needs of children and families. For those of us involved in these public-private partnerships, we know what is happening in our state, but it is difficult to get information, especially from those in other states, about what is working, what is being learned, new ideas, and how models are maturing.
