Film + Coffee + Chat with Hot Donna’s Clubhouse Donate what you can and come and watch a beautiful queer BIPOC short film "Discovering Brooklynn" (directed by Aliya Brooks) and listen to a panel of wonderful folks that will be held onsite at Junior High LA in Glendale at 1PM on September 18th. Coffee and pastries will be provided by the lovely @auntiesla The panel will be a discussion on queer community, personal stories and opinions or insights from the short film. Our panlestists include: Nico Turner of Gayasstrology Camille Elston of QUEER26 Jasmine Lowe of QUEER26 Aliya Brooks, the director And Johnny Gentlemen, a local drag king "A Weekend with Hot Donna" is focused on producing safe & inclusive spaces for all kinds of queers from all over Los Angeles. With that, we want to have those queers meet some of Donna's "friends" by collabing with different queer promoters and organizations for the weekend of September 17-19. The film, Discovering Brooklyn, is about a woman who reconnects with a person from her past she prefers to forget. She is torn between remaining true to her homophobic upbringing or expressing her stifled sexuality. The film is meant to give an insight into a very brief experience in her life that has apparent repercussions on her future. There will be a Q&A to discuss being queer and living here! Link in bio.
