Parent Education Night
Please join LACS for a parent education night on Thursday, September 30 from 5:30p.m.-7:30p.m. This hands-on event will provide participants with the opportunity to put themselves in the shoes of a student with executive functioning learning challenges, while working through some of the challenges and frustrations students experience each day.
The goal of the simulation is to allow participants the opportunity to get perspective about learners of varied backgrounds and abilities and to understand that learning differences do not define our learners or change their overall capabilities
For 60 minutes, participants will rotate through six learning stations that simulates executive functioning-related tasks that could be encountered in a classroom: working memory, emotional regulation, impulse control, organization, planning/prioritization and sustained attention. An overview of executive functioning will be provided prior to the simulation.
Sincerely,
Lizette Hibbert
