im a rhythm guitarist with minimal harmonic lead improvisational skills. I am not a shredder. Im looking to build a band in longview. Not opposed to joining any already established act's looking to add members, and I am also available to fill in for shows as long as your band has sometype of material i could learn by ear. I can activly play for bands in any of these tunings E Standard Drop D D standard Drop c c Standard or drop b at this time i do not have any capabilities to go much lower. some of my influences are as i lay dying architects slipknot falling in reverse parkway drive born of osiris falling in reverse bernth i like bernth i like god forbid all shall perish gojira im definatly starting to learn more jazz oriented chords and trying to go down the rabbit of whole of some of this djenty prog stuff as I am not there yet in my journeys this is the way im going towards in my time spent with my instrument.pantera although heavy i do see my songs more simplistic, maybe a little bit of a polyrhythmic feel on how you order 8th notes and making certain riffs last over 4 bars in goove oriented way makes for longer song structures but I feel that is the only element of modern metal music I have to over is maybe a melodic groove oriented riff in a polyrhythmic feel. they type of band i want to start would be leaning more heavy then singing jam type band. I want it to be very groove oriented. i also want to have breakdowns and deathcore influences but i also want to come away from death core and have melodic courses and solos. I want it to be very heavy. I want to have very melodic instrumentals for a few of the songs bridges. the other ones i would like to be balls to the wall heavy and raunchy. I would like to have a few songs with clean course. I would like to explore with different song structures, maybe not. your traditional intro,verse.course,verse,cours,bridge course. then i would like to have a few songs that are heavy the whole time with a simple upbeat groove oriented riff. I am looking for another guitarist with the majority of the songwriting duties, I would like him to have a little bit of knowledge of theory. I can contribute riffs i would like the second guitar player to be more versed in lead playing. the Type of drummer i am looking for is not your typical drummer that sits back and keeps a beat...I would like a drumset with a bigger kit...to have a few extra cymbals and some extra toms a rack with extra stuff and i want him to put his own artisit expression on the song not just plain old simple four on the floor bass on 1 snare on 3 i want someone who can play like joey jordison, someone who can do the blast beats. the fills that land right on time back into the beat. all the crazy stuff. I want a singer who can sing.... but i want a singer who can do all the different harsh vocal types properly.. not just screaming at the top of your lungs and then trying to sing clean on a chorus but failing miserably. im looking for honest people to play with no a$$holes....if you dont want to play with me im looking for someone to look me in the eye and tell me i promise you wont hurt my feelings.. Im not looking to pay your storage shed..... im not looking to jam. once a week and pay band dues....if we start something and something comes up and we need to buy something i will contribute my fair share. I want to cause controversy and I want to wreak havoc. let some shit on fire please respond to my email with your name and what you have in mind and if you have any songs you would want me to learn just send them toim definatly starting to learn more jazz oriented chords and trying to go down the rabbit of whole of some of this djenty prog stuff as I am not there yet in my journeys this is the way im going towards in my time spent with my instrument.
