About Robin’s Home: Robin’s Home provides a full continuum of care for homeless, unstably housed and low-income female veterans and their children. Robin’s Home is located in Butler, PA but we serve women veterans in seven counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Erie, Lawrence, and Mercer counties. Robin’s Home is named after a women veteran who served in the Army and was deployed in support of Desert Storm. After discharge, Robin had been receiving treatment for sexual trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder when she also required surgery for a medical condition. Unfortunately, due to complications from the surgery, Robin passed away January 27, 2017. In her honor, Robin’s Home provides supportive housing to women veterans and their children in need. Currently located in Butler County, no other agency provides supportive housing to homeless women veterans and their children. Sadly, there is a growing need for women veterans who need housing stabilization and supportive services. Women Veterans are the fastest growing segment of the military and homeless population. Women Veterans are twice as likely to experience homelessness than non women veterans. In addition to grants for funding, we rely on the generosity of local people and organizations who donate funds and items to support Robin’s Home. Community Integration Program: Many of the woman who live in Robin’s home end up putting down roots in the community. Funds are needed to develop a Community Integration Program that assists these women, and their children, to become familiar with the community, it’s resources, develop relationships and establish roots through a variety of programs and support. This is crucial step in helping them move to self-sufficiency and long-term success. The goal of this event is to raise enough money to build a foundation for the launch of Robin’s Home Community Integration Program and other needs. SPONSORS: This event is brought to you by the incredible generosity of: Tom Panei, Cummings Coffee, Chop Shop, Butler Brew Works, MLH Distillery and Hennessy Cigar Co.
