The founder of Oasis Fresh Markets joins us! AJ Johnson, has always had a heart to serve. Although AJ came from what some would describe as “small beginnings,” AJ has known that the call of God on his life was for something that would reach people. Prior to his current role, AJ served as the Executive Director of the Tulsa Dream Center and was responsible for helping meet the needs of children and families in the areas of food, medical, and education. Throughout the pandemic Victory Church & the Tulsa Dream Center partnered with several ministries to serve millions of meals in underserved and rural communities across several states. The pandemic highlighted for AJ the importance of equitable access to sustainable groceries, and as established such, became the owner and CEO of Oasis Fresh Markets. Oasis is the first grocery store to serve North Tulsa in over 14 years. Oasis Fresh Markets exists to change the narrative of America’s most underserved by providing fresh and healthy access to all. In addition to the brick and mortar grocery stores, AJ has tangentially launched a 501c3 non-profit, The Oasis Projects, which aims to build bridges for our customers, community residents, and employees with valuable resources to improve health and wellness from a holistic lens. At Oasis Fresh Markets, the motto is “more than just groceries, equipping for life!” AJ was named in Oklahoma Magazine’s 40 Under 40 in 2017 and 2021. He is currently getting his Master’s in Leadership at Oral Roberts University and is a member of the Stagen Leadership Institute. Your $12 ticket will cover your buffet breakfast. We are meeting in the Fellowship Hall, so feel free to park in front of the flag poles. The Breakfast starts at 6:45 am and will end promptly at 7:45 am.
