Description

WALTHAM, MA — Bentley University announced Wednesday that students who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to quarantine for 10 days regardless of vaccination status. In an email to faculty, the school said it is following Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines and working closely with the Waltham Board of Health (BOH) to make these decisions. According to the new policy, all students who test positive must isolate for ten days from their test date or the first day of symptoms. The Waltham BOH is helping Bentley determine these dates, inform students, conduct contact tracing, and release students from isolation. Students who become a close contact have varying options depending on their vaccination status and whether or not they have symptoms. Those who are vaccinated and asymptomatic do not need to quarantine, but those who do experience symptoms must get tested. Close contacts who are unvaccinated must quarantine for seven days and can be released on day 8 with a negative PCR test. If a student is in isolation and needs to join class remotely, their professor will be notified. However, faculty cannot ask students about their testing or vaccination status.
