SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott will host a ceremony remembering victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist acts in conjunction with a community "Day of Giving" on the Town Hall Lawn and parking lot Saturday.
The ceremony will be at 10 a.m. on the Town Hall Lawn and is open to the public.
The Day of Giving will be in the adjacent parking lot from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with items collected being redistributed by the Anchor Food Pantry and resold at Goodwill.
There are several items both organizations say are in particular demand.
Anchor Food Pantry is especially looking for donations of instant coffee, cereal, granola bars, canned beats, snacks, cookies, crackers, microwave popcorn, non-dairy shelf-stable milk, feminine hygiene products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shampoo.
Items should be unopened and should not have reached an expiration date.
Goodwill is looking for clothing, jewelry, hats, gloves, books, games, toys, housewares, electronics, collectible, electronics, collectibles, linens and curtains.
