Press release from the Levittown Public Schools:
September 07, 2021
"The beginning of a new school year fills us with hope," Superintendent Dr. Tonie McDonald said. "New books, new pencils and new classrooms symbolize renewal, growth and excitement of what is to come. Whether it be learning in the classroom, scoring a goal on the athletic field or performing on our stages, we hope that all of our children feel a connection to our schools."
Outside of the elementary schools, parents snapped lots of photos before students went inside to meet their teachers and unpack their new supplies. At Jonas Salk Middle School, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran and Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder held a meet and greet with sixth graders.
