FRAMINGHAM, MA — A two-alarm fire damaged a multifamily home in the downtown Framingham area Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters were called to 92 Winthrop St. near 1 p.m. The department called for a second alarm shortly after crews began arriving. The fire was likely located on the second story of the home, according to the department. No one was injured in the blaze, but several pet birds were rescued, according to the Framingham Fire Department. Firefighters had by 1:30 p.m. brought the fire under control. Police shut down streets in the neighborhood north of Washakum Pond during the incident. Traffic Alert: @FraminghamFire is working a fire scene on Winthrop Street.
