CANTON - The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's Boston Chapter will hold its annual blood drive to honor 9/11 victims in partnership with the Canton Police Department and Kraft Family Blood Donor Center. We are going through an unprecedented time battling with the COVID-19 pandemic with enormous challenges on many ends. Thousands of lives are at a risk due to this pandemic. Consequently, blood banks are constantly running low on blood supply. The Boston Chapter invites all local community members to donate blood. The blood donated will help the patients at two local hospitals - Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Background: To honor the victims of 9/11 and emphasize Islam's essential teaching regarding the sanctity of life, the Ahmadiyya Muslims Community, USA began organizing blood drives all across the nation in 2011. The "Muslims for Life" Campaign has now become a nationwide annual event. To date, the Muslims for Life campaign has facilitated over 1,500 blood drives which collected over 60,000 pints - enough to have helped save as many as 180,000 lives.
