BRAINTREE, MA — Another town council hopeful has put her hat in the ring for the Braintree town election this November.
Carol-ann Ricardo took out nomination papers to run in District 2, and open race that will see her, former Councilor John Mullaney and Joseph Reynold square off.
"The residents of Braintree need a voice and an advocate to address the real issues in our community," Ricardo said in a Facebook post. "We need to continue the momentum for change that we fought so hard to initiate two years ago."
As of Wednesday, 28 candidates told Town Clerk Jim Casey they intend to run in the town election on Nov. 2. Among those candidates are two former town councilors vying to get a seat again: Thomas Bowes in District 3 and Mullaney in District 2.
The school committee term is for four years, and town council seats are for two years.
