ANDOVER, MA — Andover's End of Summer celebration event will take place Friday, three weeks after the event was rained out.
The town's 375th Anniversary Committee is hosting the event Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. behind Old Town Hall, in the parking lot behind 20 Main Street.
The event was initially planned for Aug. 19 but it was canceled due to rain.
The committee has organized a number of events throughout the year marking the town's 375 years of existence. Looking ahead, the committee is hosting Andover Thrives Community Day Sept. 25 and 375th First Night Dec. 31, both including fireworks.
The End of Summer Event will feature music, food and drinks. The Ben Knight Band will perform.
The event is free while food, beer and wine will be sold by Oak & Iron Brewing, LaRosa's and other local businesses.
"The 375th Committee is excited to be able to offer residents and visitors an opportunity to continue to enjoy downtown Andover this summer through this one-of-a-kind event," said committee chair Buzz Stapczynski.
