WOODBRIDGE, NJ — At 6 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 10 Woodbridge will hold its annual Sept. 11 memorial service at the Woodbridge Township Concert Stage, located on the field behind Woodbridge High School. The event will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attack on America and honor the nine Woodbridge Township residents who were killed in the terrorist attacks. The nine Woodbridge residents who died that day are: Edward Allegretto, Marilyn Bautista, Patrick Dunn, John Adam Larson, James Lynch, Charles Mauro, Tonyell McDay, Narender Nath and Sankara Velamuri. This will also be a salute to all first responders everywhere, including the Woodbridge Police Department (WPD), Woodbridge Township Fire Department(s) and First Aid Squad(s), the Woodbridge Township Office of Emergency Management and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for outstanding service to the community in the 20 years following the aftermath of September 11, 2001. Mayor John McCormac will be there, as will federal, state and county officials, members of the Woodbridge Veterans Alliance and religious leaders with the Woodbridge Interfaith Clergy Council.
