AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is now accepting applications for its 65th Texas game warden cadet class.
Applications for the Texas Game Warden are being accepted until Sept. 7 to Oct. 8. ApplicantsYou must be at least 21 years of age, with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college. Visit their department's website for more information.
Game wardens oversee the enforcement of Texas laws governing natural resource protection, environmental management and water safety.
"Texas Game Wardens have a long and proud tradition of protecting and conserving the State's valuable natural resources. That includes our waterways, landscapes, and the wildlife we enjoy daily," Col. Chad Jones, the TPWD Law Enforcement Director, said in a statement.
"Not only are game wardens trained in a number of specialized fields like search and rescue and disaster response, we are members of the community. We are out in our neighborhoods hosting fishing events, educating boaters, and encouraging another generation of Texans to enjoy and preserve the outdoors," he added.
