Looking to add a new member to your family and do something good for the world at the same time? Maybe it's the right time to adopt a pet! Many animal shelters in the Lexington area are still working to find forever homes for dozens of cats, dogs and other adorable critters coming through. Over 6 million pets and other companion animals are surrendered or taken in each year by shelters nationwide, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
