Press release from the City of Columbia Police Department: September 7, 2021 Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators continue to follow leads in this weekend's fatal shooting of a 16-year-old male. Officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of McQueen Street shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, 2021 for a reported shooting. The young victim has been identified by the Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford as Josiah T.J. Sanders. The CPD crime scene unit collected ballistic evidence for processing. Investigators continue to determine a motive for the shooting. Police Chief W.H.
