PORTSMOUTH, RI — High school football is back in Rhode Island this fall. Following a season that was postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and moved to the spring of 2021, the Portsmouth High School Patriots are back on the gridiron this fall. The team's regular season begins Friday, with a home-opener against Somerset-Berkley Regional High School, ahead of the conference opener the following week.
