Tyrant Alert- Eco Groovy Deals (Arcata, CA) Hi townsfolk, I was walking up the sidewalk today with a camera filming video of the plaza. When I got closer to the entrance of Eco Groovy Deals, a couple gals out front glanced at me and ran inside. From the sidewalk I pointed the camera towards the interior of the store. A gal inside then yells "F--- OFF!" from behind a small counter. Another gal mutters, "Just call the police,". And a third grabs the door and slams it shut. One of the gals later admits she is working and doesn't want me filming. I reminded her that I am simply on the sidewalk obtaining shots of the various architecture and that I don't wish to cause a disturbance. Is this how we act in the United States in 2021? Our rights are being eroded everyday by ignorant Americans who would rather yell expletives and call the police than actually respect the rights and freedom we all are entitled to enjoy in this nation. Call the police, Karens. And if you are in the area, shoot some videos of the kind folks over at Eco Groovy, just stay on the public sidewalk, and please keep it respectful. Filming video in public is neither illegal nor immoral. If you don't want to be videotaped, you might want to reconsider leaving your private abode. Don't you know what 'Surveillance Capitolism' is???
