FOXBOROUGH, MA —A Merrimack couple was honored at the annual New England Patriots Foundation's community awards ceremony last month for their volunteer work to serve people who have disabilities.
Louise and Dave Hackett were presented with a $10,000 donation to Gateways Community Services, which works to provide programs and services for people with developmental disabilities in New Hampshire.
The Hacketts served on the board of directors for Gateways when it formed in 1981, according to a news release.
Twenty-six nonprofits were recognized for their work in the New England region.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and his late wife, Maya, started the Community Quarterback Awards in 1998 to honor community volunteers and donate to their causes. After Maya's death in 2011, the awards were renamed The Myra Kraft Community MVP Awards.
