Novato School District Reports 16 COVID Cases

NOVATO, CA — The Novato Unified School District issued a statement Friday reporting 16 known cases of the coronavirus with the potential for exposure. The district said the cases represent a small fraction (around 0.2 percent) of the district's 7,392 students and staffers. "While we would like to have 0 positive Covid-19 cases, we have been diligent in our safety precautions," the NUSD said in a statement. The NUSD Covid Dashboard does not indicate how many of these cases involved students, or staff, or whether the cases were transmitted in-school or via community spread, or whether it has knowledge of the breakdown. A district spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request from Patch for a more specific data. The NUSD updates its Covid Dashboard each week. It can be viewed it here.
