NORRISTOWN, PA — All students and staff at Norristown Area High School are safe after the school was locked down Wednesday morning due to a threat, officials said. Students were evacuated from the building after the lockdown "out of an abundance of caution," according to the district. Police responded to the school and assisted in securing the scene. "Everyone is safe at NAHS," the district said in a statement. "No threats have been found. Staff and students have been amazing in their cooperation and understanding." Student dismissal underway at NAHS. Buses being loaded first, then parent pick will be permitted. Shelter in place at Whitehall and Admin Building now lifted.— Christopher Dormer (@NASDSuper) September 8, 2021 The exact nature of the threat has not been made publicly available, although it came in a phone call. School was dismissed following the incident. Dismissal remained in process at around 12:30 p.m. Parents who want to pick up their child can do so at the Masonic Lodge on Burnside Avenue, once buses are loaded.
