LAKE VILLA, IL — The artwork of a local girl battling pediatric cancer will be featured on reusable Aldi bags starting next week. Anna Ciamarra, a 10-year-old Lake Villa girl with Leukemia, is among the artists whose pictures will be featured on the bags available in stores starting on Sept. 15. Ciamarra is a childhood cancer ambassador for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Aldi recently invited ALSF children and their siblings to submit artwork for a chance to have their design featured on reusable grocery bags. Through the combination of a corporate donation, customer donations and a portion of proceeds from the sale of lemon-themed products and reusable shopping bags featuring ALSF artists, ALDI will donate at least $1 million to ALSF in 2021. ALDI employees across the country are also participating in ALSF's Million Mile initiative, which invites participants to run, walk and cycle to raise awareness of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. ALSF is aiming for participants to log a collective 1 million miles during September. More information is available online.
