Doylestown Arts Festival Returns This Weekend For 30th Year

DOYLESTOWN, PA — More than 150 artists are set to showcase their creations this weekend at the 30th annual Doylestown Arts Festival, according to organizers. The festival's lineup includes woodworkers, jewelry makers, fine artists and much more. At least 32 bands and musicians are also scheduled to take to the stage at the festival, with five stages set up for performances. The free arts festival is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in downtown Doylestown. The first Doylestown Arts Festival was held in 1991 by a group of business owners and residents trying to bring attention and foot traffic to downtown Doylestown "while expanding on the already substantial art and cultural foundation in the region," organizers said. Thirty years later, "the festival is still going strong with the same goals in mind," organizers said on the event's Facebook page. MORE: Musical Lineup Set For Doylestown Arts Festival Last year was the first time in the past three decades that the Doylestown Arts Festival was not held in-person, with the coronavirus pandemic forcing festival organizers to transition to virtual spotlights in 2020. This year's festival will feature about 40 fewer vendors than previous years, and there will not be a food court, according to the event's website. Guests are encouraged to wear masks at the festival, but they are not mandatory. There is no requirement for guests to be vaccinated to attend. Organizers are encouraging local residents to walk or bike to the event to reduce parking congestion, with a large portion of downtown Doylestown to be closed to traffic this weekend. Street parking is available in several locations outside the festival but is expected to fill up quickly, organizers said. Guests can also use the Doylestown Dart and SEPTA Regional Rail to reach the festival. Two Dart shuttles will run from 9:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. both days.
