EDINA, MN — The search for a two-year-old girl in Edina ended after more than 18 hours Tuesday when authorities found her body near Rosland Park.
Iklas Abdullahi Ahmed had been last seen at about 5 p.m. Monday at the park, police said. Authorities said she may have wondered off from family.
Just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, members of the Hennepin County water rescue team found her body in the water near the park.
"On behalf of the City, I want to send our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers to the family and loved ones of this young girl," said Edina Police Chief Todd Milburn in a news release.
"Our hearts go out to all those affected by this devastating tragedy."
