ELMHURST, IL — In recent days, Elmhurst police have charged people with domestic battery, drug possession, endangering the life of a child and driving violations. Here is information from the reports: Domestic battery Kayla O. Beard, 21, of Addison, was arrested shortly before midnight Saturday on two counts of domestic battery. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, she and her boyfriend got into a fight in the 600 block of West North Avenue. They were found at the intersection of Villa and Plymouth. Police saw scratch marks on the boyfriend's neck. Drugs Kiyoshi K. Fields-Washington, 41, of New Orleans, was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday at York and Fremont on two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, she was seen pulling the driver from a parked vehicle during a domestic dispute. The driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested on a DUI charge. Fields was found to possess cocaine, methamphetamine and two cut straws containing cocaine residue. Anthony I. Young, 55, of Bellwood, was arrested about 3 p.m. Sunday at Jewel, 153 Schiller, on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing identification, retail theft, no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, unlawful display of registration and no front license plate. In the same incident, Erik Watts, 47, of Maywood, was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, the men were found in a car slumped over the seats. They were found to have heroin. Young admitted to stealing two bottles of Tito's vodka from Jewel. Endangering life of child Solomon Moss, 26, of Berwyn, was arrested about 6 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of South York on DuPage County and Will County warrants and on charges of endangering the life or health of a child, resisting a police officer, obstructing identification, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and illegal screeching of tires. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, officers were informed about a reckless driver at York Commons. The man, identified as Moss, was wanted on a case in which he ran away from officers in Darien. Warrant Christopher Dwyer, 34, of Elmhurst, was arrested at 10 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Fay on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Driving violations Elvis Golgota, 44, of Elmhurst, was cited about 7:30 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of East Butterfield on charges of driving with a suspended license and disobeying a traffic control device. He was released on bond. Nelson Marquez, 25, of Glendale Heights, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Monday at Lake and Route 83 on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and no seat belt. He was released on bond. Edilsa Cardona Lopez, 21, of Northlake, was cited about 8:30 p.m. Monday at Michigan and North on charges of no valid driver's license and tinted windows. She was released on bond. Hilario Garcia Salamanc, 45, of Stone Park, was cited about 9 p.m. Monday at North and York on charges of no valid driver's license and expired registration. He was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
