CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte police are asking for the community's help locating a murder suspect who is considered armed and dangerous after a 29-year-old woman was found dead in a Charlotte art studio Monday morning. Malek Moore, 29, was identified as the suspect in the case and is wanted on warrants for murder; first degree burglary; and kidnapping, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said. "Moore should be considered armed and dangerous," CMPD said. "Anyone who sees Moore or knows his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately." According to a police account, officers responded to the 400 block of East 22nd Street around 5:30 a.m. Sept. 6, where they located a woman who was not breathing. The victim was identified as Gabryelle Allnutt, 29. She was pronounced dead at the scene, CMPD said. Courtesy CMPDPolice say Moore may also be directly connected with two additional recent crimes in the area. Sunday, a woman reported that she was assaulted around noon in the 2100 block of North Davidson Street by an unknown suspect. She told police she was punched in the face with a closed fist. On Monday, a break-in was reported at The Exchange, located at 451 East 36th Street. "From information and evidence gathered, detectives have identified Moore as a suspect in the breaking and entering and issued additional warrants for Breaking and Entering and Larceny After Breaking and Entering," CMPD said. "While charges in the assault on North Davidson Street are still pending, detectives continue to investigate additional incidents Moore may have been involved in."
