AGOURA HILLS, CA — The City of Agoura Hills posted an update to its Roadside Drive Bridge Widening Project construction Wednesday, displaying the progress on the 10-month project.
The expansion of the current 30-foot bridge will allow space for a sidewalk leading up to the bridge and an expansion of the sidewalk on the bridge itself, Agoura Hills public works Director Jessica Forte told the Acorn.
The construction has stopped westbound traffic on Roadside Drive between Kanan Road and Cornell Road. The city suggested that no cars park in the area throughout the duration of the project.
Construction began on May 27 and will cost the city $2.5 million, the Acorn reported.
Powell Constructors continues to work on the supporting concrete piles to support the new abutments as part of the Roadside Drive Bridge Widening Project. Traffic is restricted to eastbound traffic only. Westbound traffic should continue to access Kanan Road via Agoura Road. pic.twitter.com/jMXdGuQQhQ— City of Agoura Hills (@CityAgouraHills) September 8, 2021 The construction is being done by Powell Constructors Inc., which recently worked on bridges and ramps in Irvine, Universal City and San Marino.
