Description

I have a masters degree in special education/language disabilities and for over 30 years have been working with students, from preschool age through college age, who have language-based learning disabilities or just need extra help learning material presented in school. I work with students according to where they are developmentally, remediate weaknesses, and fill in the gaps that exist in skill areas so students will have a strong foundation in basic skill areas and will be better able to master new skills along the learning continuum. I teach to the whole child which means I help students overcome weaknesses in visual and auditory perception/memory/discrimination that make learning difficult. I work with children to help them improve skills in reading, phonics, math, visual-motor/visual-motor-memory, logical reasoning, verbal and written expression, grammar, reading/listening comprehension, logical reasoning/problem solving, vocabulary and study skills. I also work with high school and college students who need to improve their editing and writing skills. Classes are ongoing, taught virtually, and are conducted one on one at this time.
