Description
I am a minister that freely gives food and cold treats to homeless citizens. I spent a decade on the streets after I has a big rig rollover. The dirty dealings caused my multiple injuries and a diagnosis og major depression, which nearly caused me to commit suicide. Astually I was very sure one on my attempts would work. I finally realized that Spirit would not let me go. It has been nearly another decade now. I have been always finding ways to show my gratitude to Spirit. I try to provide hot meals and frozen treats to homeless people. I do not judge who deserves help. Last year i had a payout from a lawsuit. Since then I was providing home cooked meals, especially my own chili. I spent all day creating between 15 to 20 servings. My focus is NOT the food. In all the times I was on the streets it impressed me how people could just ignore another person. What I have found the act of kindness can have a great effect on another person's countenance. What I try to do is provide for needs, food, cold stuff, gloves, masks, hand warmers and more. I want homeless people to know that I will just walk by with some food, when I cook something they enjoy, and took time to set up, the person feels cared about. This is what I do this. I have been helped by a few others over the last year and a half. However, In March I had a stroke. That put a hold on for a few months. During those months I was building a large supply of easily cooler and distributed. I have to-go cups with lids and whatever I put together. Without the help, I have dried to go out, but it is too difficulty alone with a car that has tobe dealt with. I am a 50% disabled senior veteran. I do not last long walking around passing out food. The stroke I had on March was actually developing as I was fiving out food. I did not realize when a friend called and could not understand me. I did not realize untip then, So I am on the other side of that. Mostly I have been giving out popsicles and ice cream bars on hot days. I want to get back to cooking meals. I have enough to cook full meals with drinks for groups of 15 to 20, multiple times. Today my car died. I am not sure what is going on, but considering it's age and value it may be toast. So I have the idea that there are a homeless people in vehicles that could puck up packaged meals to give people you can give them to. It would be welcome to participate in choosing what meal to cook. I have posted a short version of this, with no results. Now that I have fleshed out the idea, I hope to find help. Especially current homeless Citizens. Michael
