Eager to work, please apply! Shipping Agent Available Immediately Parallax, Inc. is a small privately held company located in Rocklin, California. Parallax designs and manufactures microcontrollers and robotic kits for STEM education, hobby, and commercial products. Parallax is actively recruiting for the position of Shipping Agent to accurately and efficiently process all orders in the Parallax shipping warehouse. Job Description. This regular, full-time, non-exempt, benefit-eligible position is primarily responsible for order fulfillment in the Parallax warehouse. It is a key position in a small team with a range of duties that include everything from shipping to weekly cycle counts to light assembly work in production; the successful candidate will be comfortable working as a “floater”. Knowledge of various shipping methods is required, but actually, if you're eager to learn a new skill, let's talk. Maintaining a clean and efficiently organized warehouse is an absolute priority for this position. The duties will include, but are not limited to the following: Utilize shipping knowledge to ship packages both domestically and internationally Ensure timely and accurate shipment of all orders Provide proper packaging, addressing, and method of shipment Maintain accurate shipping records and ensure that all items being shipped are accounted for via system generated packing slip or shipping request form Comply with established quality control procedures for shipping and handling finished goods Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the lead Create and implement new ways to make the shipping process more efficient Adapt to light assembly work as needed Experience in an electronics manufacturing facility is preferred but not required Forklift experience is preferred. Requirements: Must be able to handle high volumes of shipment orders daily Demonstrate strong and reliable keyboarding Demonstrate computer savvy with use of multiple software programs Work in a cooperative and conscientious fashion with fellow staff Perform duties with an appreciation for deadlines and goals Take pride and ownership in their work while demonstrating strong work ethic Proven ability to prioritize tasks and adjust to varying demands Create and maintain an organized and pristine work space Willingness to take on other duties as assigned, often light assembly work in production Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Able to work in a warehouse where standing and moving quickly to keep up with work demand is essential Reliable attendance with a Monday-Friday schedule, 7:00am to 3:30pm (30 minute meal break) Salary determined on employment, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and enthusiasm. Hourly range is from $16.00 to $20.00 per hour. We do not allow the use of personal cell phones during working hours for this position.
