Description
Saddened having to post this, but unfortunately our Great Dane puppy isn't fitting in with our family.
Male, born Feb 3rd, fawn with a blue face and streak along his back. White paws and small blaze in his nose. Great looking pup.
Housebroken, knows how to sit, stay, and leave it, especially if there are treats involved. Can walk well on leash but more training would be advised. Crate trained.
Overall smart dog, relatively easy to train for a Dane. He can be loud, especially if you reprimand him he'll bark back at you, which is pretty comical.
He is good with dogs of his same size, but smaller dogs, he tends to want to play non-stop with them. He won't take other dogs cues of "enough is enough" until other dogs put him in his place.
He is ok with kids. Likes to chase them thinking it's playtime and will try to bite dresses or skirts. If in doors he'll usually lay by your feet and ignore children.
Ultimately we love the dog but when my 4 year old is afraid of him, and my 7 yr old is only comfortable when an adult is around him as he's knocked her down a few times, it's best to find him a better home. He's never shown aggression to humans or other dogs. We currently have a 70lb golden doodle and a 30lb mutt whom he plays with.
My recommendation would be for him to be in a home with either a large dog or be only dog. Kids ok but more training is recommended.
All shots up to date.
