Description
I am a licensed veterinary nurse that found a domesticated bunny rabbit in the parking lot on September 1st, 2021. I have posted in several found pets forums and on community sites but no one has claimed him. I fear that he may have been purposefully dumped. I have been calling him Topaz due to his golden fur and beautiful blue eyes which is a rare color for bunny rabbits. Topaz is fully litter box trained and quite sweet. I have only known him for six days but he really enjoys his hay (they must have access to it all day), fresh veggies (so far cilantro and romaine lettuce are a favorite), treats like carrots and apples (small amounts only), being petted, exploring, and playing. If you've never had a bunny, I can help you! He comes with many but not all supplies. No adoption fee, just the right person/family. Topaz's perfect home: - Free roam in the house with access to a den. A den can be a large cage with the door kept open and a litterbox inside. It is usually best to have a couple of litterboxes especially if he will be in multiple rooms. - Ideally you are home most of the day. Bunnies are social. - If you have children, your children are respectful and polite of animals and not obsessed with picking him up as that may not be something he enjoys. - Someone that can provide FRESH veggies and hay daily - Someone willing to change his litterbox(s) daily. No cat litter!! -If you have pets, they are polite and not predatory -If he isn't the best fit, you are willing to return him to me so I can find him a forever family -If you have other bunnies, he will need to be neutered - Someone willing to take him to a veterinarian for a check up and if he is sick - Someone who will keep him indoors and not in a cage - Someone patient and loving who will not yell, hit, or otherwise punish an animal - Someone willing to bunny proof their home, meaning not allowing wires out to be chewed on, etc. - Willing to allow a home visit so I can ensure that he is going to a good place. (Non judgmental, just for safety). I know its a lot, but for the right person, it makes absolute sense. I am a nurse therefore a professional caretaker. It is my absolute job to advocate for THEIR needs. He can stay in my home until I find the perfect fit. God bless you all!
