Description
You are invited to the Baltimore Initial Equipping Workshop to become a Trauma Healing Facilitator. Oct 1-2, 9am-4pm. This equipping is for individuals who have participated in a Healing Group and are interested in continuing the process to become a Trauma Healing Group Facilitator. We hope this means you have also experienced the power of bringing your own wounds of trauma and loss to Christ for healing and want to help others receive healing. At this Initial Equipping Workshop, you will learn basic biblical and mental health principles related to trauma care; learn how to lead groups in a participatory way; learn the Trauma Healing program model; and develop plans for using what you have learned in your community to help others heal. Our main goal is to create a safe community where healing can begin. To this end, you will be evaluated during the equipping session. A simple open book test will measure mastery of content. You will lead a short practice facilitation exercise which includes feedback on facilitator strengths and suggestions to address areas needing improvement. Completing this equipping makes you an Apprentice Facilitator. This initial equipping session is followed by a practicum in which apprentice facilitators co-lead at least the core lessons at least two times under the mentoring of a more experienced facilitator. The training process is completed with an advanced equipping session. The Equipping is Oct 1-2, 9am-4pm. You must be present for the entire training. If you need assistance with the cost, please contact Jay Baylor- we want everyone to be able to attend. We will serve coffee, water, snacks and lunch each day. You will receive the Facilitators Guide For Leading Healing Groups, published by ABS/THI at the training. In the interests of concerns over COVID-19 this will be a group of no more than 25 people. We will be able to social distance around tables. If masks are required indoors by published guidelines, we will wear masks. We will follow guidelines published for the Baltimore City and Maryland. We want everyone to remain safe and healthy.
