Let's go on a Fall Leaf-Peeping Hike with Heather in Telluride, Colorado. Heather will meet the group at 9 am at Baked in Telluride. From there, we will hike to Bear Creek Falls. It is about 2.75 miles each direction, for a total of nearly 6 miles round trip. The first 2.75 miles are completely uphill, with nearly 2,000 feet of gain. The falls are at just under 10,000 feet elevation. We will finish our hike at Baked in Telluride for a snack and conversation. Plan: Meet us at 9 AM sharp, at Baked 127 S Fir St, Telluride, CO 81435 Trailhead: Bear Creek Trail Difficulty - Easy / Moderate Total gain: 1092 ft Round trip length: 5.1 Miles Suggested Gear: Water (plenty of water) (2 liters) Gatorade / Powerade / Electrolytes Food (High carbs) Dress in layers and either wear or carry: Hat Warm Hat/Bennie and baseball cap Gloves Hiking Poles Hand Warmers Fleece or Wind-Block jacket Waterproof shell/jacket Hiking pants Hiking boots Smart wool hiking socks (Spare pare in your pack) Sunglasses 30 spf sunscreen TP (in Ziploc bag) Personal First Aid Kit (team leaders will each have first aid kits) Personal Medications Important notice re COVID-19: Please note any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID-19 and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed while in attendance at the event.
